a quick explanation of what animation is and what it is not.
Animation should not be confused with genre. Genres are categories,
such as, comedy, action or romance and are expressed through various
media. Animation is a medium, as are clay, paint or film. Some
genres, such as horror or romance, are usually restricted to specific
ages. However, media are not bound to any age range. This means that
animation is not solely for children.
